KOTA KINABALU: The Resource Development and Information Technology Ministry (KPSKTM) aims to attract 20,000 visitors to the ICT Fiesta 2015 at Suria Sabah Shopping Mall.

Speaking after officiating the event at the mall here yesterday, its minister Datuk siringan Gubat said the target was similar to previous years’ traffic of people who came to catch up on the latest technology offerings at the fiesta.

However, he said the ministry would like to see more visitors coming to this year’s ICT Fiesta.

“This is an annual program under the ministry and it involves various companies selling ICT goods. There are 56 companies taking part in this year’s event and this is a very encouraging number,” said Siringan.

“We hope to receive good response from the public to see the variety of items offered by ICT models, which ranges from the old to the new, including the newest model from Apple,” he added and reiterated the importance of ICT in the state.

In conjunction with the state ICT month of November, Sabah Computer Society organized the much anticipated ICT Fiesta 2015, which has been the premiere of PC Fair and Exhibition in Sabah for the past five years.

One of the highlights of the event is the grand purchaser lucky draw. At least five lucky buyers will have a chance to bring home prizes such as Acer One 10, Iconia Tab, and smartphones.

In addition to the PC fair, ROBONEO 2015 will feature an exciting robotics and automation exhibition.

The public can witness a robot duel challenge, an autonomous robot challenge and an indoor multi-rotor drone challenge.
